Split canvas.js from app.js

Attempts to isolate local rendering of draw operations. As !23 (merged) but on the opposite end of app.js.

@ml5717 Whoa, we need a polyfill to extend EventTarget? If so we can just use composition instead... or is it construction or something that doesn't work?
